Leora's Babe Ruth Bars

Ingredients:

  • 6 Cups Corn Flakes
  • 1 Cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup Salted Peanuts
  • 1 Package Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Crush corn flakes by rolling over them with a rolling pin. They should be coarse so do not process them. Set aside.

In a saucepan, combine corn syrup and both sugars. Bring to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and peanuts until combines.

Pour mixture over corn flakes and mix until combined.

Spread the mixture onto a greased cookie sheet, pressing it down evenly. (It will be a little sticky, so it is easier to use wax paper to press it down.)

Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bake for ten minutes. After removing from oven, spread the melted chips into an even layer of chocolate.

Cool in the fridge for a few minutes until the chocolate is set. Cover and freeze at this point.

Defrost several hours before serving. Slice into bars once it has returned to room temperature.

Enjoy!!
