Preheat oven to 250
degrees.
Crush corn flakes by
rolling over them with a rolling pin. They should be coarse so do
not process them. Set aside.
In a saucepan, combine
corn syrup and both sugars. Bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and
stir in peanut butter and peanuts until combines.
Pour mixture over corn
flakes and mix until combined.
Spread the mixture onto
a greased cookie sheet, pressing it down evenly. (It will be a little
sticky, so it is easier to use wax paper to press it down.)
Sprinkle with chocolate
chips.
Bake for ten minutes.
After removing from oven, spread the melted chips into an even layer
of chocolate.
Cool in the fridge for
a few minutes until the chocolate is set. Cover and freeze at this
point.
Defrost several hours
before serving. Slice into bars once it has returned to room temperature.
