"I worked
in the public school system for more than twenty-five years. This
work included remedial reading, writing and math in all elementary
grades and in many middle school subjects. I taught ESL/English
as a Second Language for twelve years to students on every grade
level and in adult night school.
In addition,
I have been a Title I teacher (federal government program) for both
an elementary and middle school program. My experience has included,
but not limited to, students with a large variety of learning styles,
emotional and physical concerns and other special needs. I have
completed the first level of Orton-Gillingham studies on the college
level.
One half of
our basement serves as a classroom. The tutoring area is filled
with many resources and multi-sensory materials. I am very flexible
about the location although my preference is my house due to the
wide selection of ready aids. I will tutor at the student's home,
the student's school or the local library. The fee at my location
is $40.00 per hour. After the hour there is a parent conference
in which the lesson is reviewed. There is no additional charge for
this service. If I travel to any location the fee is then adjusted
accordingly."
